The moon had cast it's heavenly glow outside my window pane
It's luminary essence pulled me closer and closer
I looked up into the night sky and saw the stars smiling
Realizing they were trying to tell me something, I pressed my back upon
The cool green grass and listened

The earth was sleeping but I was awake
I couldn't sleep, all I could do was think of you
I knew you existed somewhere within my soul
Because my heart longed to be with you
How I longed for the warmth of your hand upon mine
Or the gentle way I held you in my arms
The wind whispered your name in my ears and tears rolled down my face
I pictured us dancing - my hands in yours, yours in mine

An angel's voice echoed from the heaven as we danced just you and I
Your eyes, an ocean of blue and green, gazing into mine
It was as if you were truly there, in my arms
No longer a figment of untamed thoughts
I could feel your presences

How I hated letting go of this blissful longing but I had to
For the candle-lit night slowly began to flicker into the morn
It was only for a moment and you had escaped my mind
For the warmth of the rising sun embraced my being
Like you tenderly did before

The sun is setting on a lonely day
The colours are splitting, the perfect way
You are strolling home as you see this too
And I watch from a window thinking of you

From this day in, I'll look forever
That magical sunset, our memories together
To help me through when me life gets tough
And when I feel that I've had enough

The sun you see, makes me think of you
The miracle of it, the wonder too
I see you both everyday as you know
To stop seeing either, I have to say, no

The bright colours shine from within my heart
The colours of a sunset, a special part
Of a day in my life I wish you could see
Just what it's like, just to be me
